SACRAMENTO, Calif., Jan. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Java Centrale, Inc. (Nasdaq: JAVC), an operator and franchiser of specialty coffee and gourmet food cafes, and a Chevron distributor are test marketing the gas station/convenience-food store concept in Reno, Nevada.
The recently opened Winner's Corner in Reno features three national food operations in a food court setting. Customers can choose between Java Centrale, Subway and Baskin-Robbins, who provide comfortable indoor and outdoor seating for more than 80 guests waiting for their cars to be serviced or washed.
Java Centrale, Inc. President and Chief Executive Officer, Gary C. Nelson, said, "The initial reception by the customers of this co-branding alliance has been very positive with the coffee and pastry sales more than doubling since opening last summer." He further stated, "The Western Energetix Corporation, an independent oil company and principal owner of the Winner's Corner, is already considering an expansion of the concept to the other Chevron properties they own."
Java Centrale, a publicly traded company, was founded in 1992 and currently operates or franchises 34 cafes and espresso carts nationwide, with new locations scheduled to open in Newport Beach, Placentia, Long Beach, Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach, California. The Company's Paradise Bakery & Cafe subsidiary recently remodeled and opened a bakery & cafe in the Sun Valley Mall in Concord, California and is scheduled to open a new location in the Metro Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
