Paul, re:"DELL...AMD chips". There is a point in one's life that
you are on the right/lucky side. DELL made a 'strategic alliance' with
INTEL at the right time. AMD/CYRIX tried but failed several times to
make a dent in INTEL's market. CPQ/HWP/IBM did not want to see a
'monopoly', under most circumstances, that is not a pleasant
situation to be in. They pay the price to nuture AMD to life(maybe
this time is real) and DELL was the beneficiary but staying on the
'right side'.

If and when AMD becomes a more legimate contender in CPU, then DELL
will make the right choice and take advantage of what's available
and do 'what the customer wants'. Again, DELL is the beneficiary
without paying any price, pretty smart? eh?
