For the Japanese economy to get moving again it needs for the consumers to start spending. For this to happen a stronger yen is key and for the trading companies to pass on their reduced costs.. Since Japan imports a great amount of their food stuffs and natural resources and raw materials, a stronger vs weaker yen is more important. Any recovery in Japan will be consumer spending driven not export driven IMO.
