Dave,

I was told by my local office that I would have to write a letter to re-convert. The de-conversion would then take several days. I could then re-convert by writing another letter. That, too, would take several days. Since I only had to deal with a few hundred dollars of tax liability because I had converted from a recently-opened IRA funded with non-deductible contributions, I did not bother to do it.
