i am currently with cibc investors edge , and on my question about time to get order to the floor they told me same thing about average
time -- " if you go and place order by computer it is cheaper but it takes a longer time , if you go by live person the time is shorter ,but it cost you about once more ( don't take me by the word , i don't remember the exact #s )..
then i try it by computer and give up for some time delay and so on --
BUT if want to put a stop-loss on the order you HAVE to go with live person and the cost is the same as you would place the order complete with that guy ... what is beyond me what for christ sake they have the computer trading in the firs place ... for people who buy stock to hod it till year 2019 ( if someone wants to hold for long he would go to full service broker -- i know i would )
then i asked why they don't have anyone for day trading people -- you say you want a day trading and they will switch you to that guy or lady and voila ... " no we don't have anybody lika that , we serve on the basis first come , first get service --
but as you mentioned -- i try to make a buck to trade 20 30 40 000.00
for 1/2 or 1 hour the next guy is trading 100 shares for 5 years into the future and told them so ... still same answer ...
