Mr. Harry Barr reports
Diamond drilling is scheduled to begin in mid-November on the
Timmins Township property, approximately 40 kilometres
southeast of Timmins, Ontario. CanAlaska has an option to
earn a 50 per cent interest in the Timmins Township property.
The property is south of and contiguous with the Sheraton
Township property of Cross Lake Minerals, on which
significant volcanogenic copper-zinc-silver mineralization
was discovered in 1997. Cross Lake is currently drilling on
the Sheraton Township property.
CanAlaska has completed linecutting and approximately 28 line
kilometres of induced polarization and ground magnetometer
surveys on the northern part of the Timmins Township
property. This work covered the southern extension of the
stratigraphy which hosts the Cross Lake mineralization, as
well as a strong east-northeast trending cross structure. The
ground geophysics have defined a number of targets which are
currently being evaluated and prioritized for diamond drill
testing.
Further geophysical programs will be conducted to outline
other targets on the 9,520 hectare Timmins Township property,
as well as on the 100 per cent CanAlaska owned Michie
property due south. CanAlaska anticipates a minimum of four
to six targets will be drill tested in the upcoming program.
