Re:"popularity of Sony Playstation is due in large part to its use of the familiar CD-ROM format."

That makes lots of sense. I'm sure all the consumers were confused when Nintendo64 decided to go with that so unfamiliar and novel cartridge format--Atari just hadn't been around long enough.

"200MB discs that cosmetically resemble familiar standard floppies"

You've got to be kidding. It's a wonder that people moved from that all so familiar vinyl format; CD-ROMs don't even resemble a record. The parallels and conclusions you have been coming up with are almost as entertaining as the occasional attempt to liven your prose with similes, metaphors or whatever.

You know Rocky, for someone that really touts the newest, next greatest gadget, why do you suppose your beloved Sony is sticking with such old, or is it now familiar, technology: CD-ROM, floppy disks, etc.
