I don't believe in ghosts. If XYZ on NASDAQ is 10 x 11, and you bid 1000 at 10 1/8, you should see your order represented. A customer at another brokerage might see the bid of 10 1/8 and place an order to sell 1000 at 10 1/8. That order goes to the broker's favorite market maker, who might currently be bidding 10. The MM can either buy the shares at 10 1/8 or pass the order to ISLD and you get a fill. They will probably buy the shares. It's the MM's choice.
