To Thread:

I am a metastock user and have been looking for a new data supplier. I have bumped into QP1 and QP2 before but never really looked at it seriously. After lurking on this thread for a while it is apparent that QP2 does a lot more than serve up data, but not being familiar with the software I can't really tell what the advantages are. Any advice about what advantages and disadvantages QP2 provides as a supplement to Metastock would be appreciated.

I do have some specific questions:

1) what are virtual files and how do they work with Metastock. I assume that QP2 can export data into a MS compatible format, so why the "virtual" file?

2) I take it that QP2 can do sophisticated technical scans if one can master the programing (macro?) language. What is the advantage of scans in QP2 vs those in MS Explorer? Can the output of scans be easily sent to a MS directory for charting?

3) The file (chart) management capabilities of MS are very poor in my opinion. Does QP2 offer any advantages?

4) How good are the charting capabilities of QP2?

Thanks in advance for any help and advice offered. This seems to be a helpful thread.
