Steve, I appreciate your response and am especially glad that we have not flipped off the communications track...
There is one matter that I would like to challenge you on, and another which I believe we can well call moot:
1) "Should we accept? I'm no expert, but I understand from casual reading that people who resist disease are far more likely to recover."
How about I say that 'fretting' is not fighting, but giving in to? And that ignoring is, in a sense, denying, and thus resisting the presence of?
2) "Yes. But what about what you will be?"
If the tense of existence is "am" - not "was," "is," and "will be" - isn't a discussion on this sort of temporal platform sort of put on the shelf? (We do run on different currents, don't we?)
There is such a handful of sweethearts on this thread, it gives me goosebumps to be even remotely connected with. As I was told after a creative writing seminar in college, when I said to a classmate, at a 3.2% beer house, "I guess I'm pretty cynical...", "Cynical my ass(!), you're a sentimental idealist!" Some of the deep shit, the depth and honesty, of a lot of you guys, even Alex, who mystifies me quite often, hits me deeply and sentimentally.
With respect (again), geo |
