Alpha has never shipped in anything more than small quantities since it's inception. DEC was happy to dump that turkey on Compaq. What's going to change now? Xeon, on the other hand, is in very high demand, yield problems have been fixed and margins are very very high. At the same time the K7 is enjoying rave reviews for it's foil presentations and the K6-3 is slipping to Q2'99, according to some analysts. EP
