Hello Tippet,

I agree with Tom. The prophesy of that statement is extremely important. All prophecy in the bible must be fulfilled.
A prophet must be 100 percent accurate 100 percent of the time to be a true prophet of God...
Deuteronomy 18
21 And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the Lord hath not spoken?
22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.

Think about who actually provides the prophecy and all of what is written in the bible...
"For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost." 2 Peter 1:21

One part of the Trinity that wrote those very words was hanging on the cross when He spoke them.
The verse you were also mentioning is in II Corinthians 5:21
"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."

Isaiah is a a tremendous book of prophecy. Chapter 53 is filled with prophecy concerning Christ and the sacrifice He made for us.
Regarding "forsaking" in Chapter 54 of that book, the prophecy involves, as I see it, Israel, and the grafting in of the Gentiles, and how God views their (Israel) forsaking but for a moment...
7 For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee.
8 In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the Lord thy Redeemer.
God does not forget, and He will fulfill each and every prophecy without fail as He has done thus far.

A tid bit of interest of how Satan plays and twists his deceptions, if you can accept the authours comments as true.
I read of a woman who was deeply involved in Satanism and in the hierarchy of that organization.
She claims that during her involvement she was shown by Satan how he had defeated Christ giving her a vision of Jesus being tortured in hell repeating that very phrase over and over again regarding being forsaken.
He is ever a deceiver and a liar. God has shown us his end and the victory that He has already won over our arch enemy the devil.
Isaiah 14:16
"They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;..."

The most important words Jesus spoke on the cross...
The ones that completed His work...
Where the war with Satan was won for all time...
"IT IS FINISHED" John 19:30

I Cor 2
7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

Forgive me for rambling on here but your question is a worthy one and requires more than a line or two.

In Christ,
John
