Robert, a year or so ago I read an interesting article in the Economist magazine describing the growth of per capita incomes of countries. In this article it went on to say at approximately $4500.00 per year per capita income, developing countries start to buy cars in large quantities. Projecting the future growth curve, China should reach this level at about 2004.
I believe it's logical to assume, computer purchases could follow a similar pattern.
Some examles of this type of digital buying today are..Cellular phones, and Keorokee machines using MPEG1 technology.
The future of course is as yet unwritten. Isn't predicting it part of what makes investing in high tech companies so alluring?
Regards, Michael
