>I look at the results come in it appears that the assumed desperation may well have been overdone,no?<
We the people were fed what we were fed. Ever since Clinton's non-apology, admitting the semen-stained dress was of his making, the media have been in emergency session. They and the WH pulled out all the stops to minimize damage. They played the people well. They generated enough sympathy for Clinton and poor bamboozled Dems that people the country over couldn't help but vote for the underdogs. Everything from "news" articles for instance on the ABC News site discussing how "everybody lies", to articles on how even Thomas Jefferson and everyone in between has had little indiscretions in their lives, and they've all capered about the WH with their willys hanging out.
Then, just in case that all wasn't enough, out came the threats of physical force if people didn't get out there and vote for Dems: Surely if you did not vote Democrat: 1) Your church will be burned 2) A cross will be burned on your lawn 3) Your brother or sister will be shot 4) Your lunch will be taken from you, leaving you and your grandparents eating dogfood.
I don't see how Dems can be proud of their campaign. I don't see how they can be proud to be Americans. They seek pity (poor Bill, everyone's criticizing him, even the senior Dems), they provide excuses (everyone lies, everyone commits adultery, everyone gets blowjobs in the oval office). And just in case that's not enough, they'll burn your church down and shoot your sister if you don't get out there and vote for Democrats. |
