It takes some work - but the little guy does stand a chance - as basic rules don't trust
company's management to tell you the truth if it runs against their making a killing
selling their stock to you and you'll do OK. (Is there such a thing as responsibility to
shareholders?)

Rob,

The little guy does stand a chance as you say. I have done well for years excluding this one thus far. This one is good also excluding AMZN. I will actually have to pay captial gains tax including the AMZN losses. Scary but good <G> The year is not over yet so I have not given up on AMZN.

I believe I have seen some firms that appear to show responsibility to their shareholders. Their actions reflect that and IR is typically as helpful as legally permitted. These companys do turn a profit and typically have growing profits.

It is like a class system. Some firms are in the successful and considerate class. Others, lose lots of money and keep their conference calls so private as to exclude the media. Their IR also will hardly confirm a date for numbers release much less anything more.

I can name examples of the first class maybe someone knows examples of the second. Some of the first are:

CSCO, ASND, LU, INTC, TLAB, S, WMT......
