CCSI vs SpectRx - a non-issue

SPECTRX'S DEVICE DOES NOT WORK ON AN INFANT THAT UNDERGOES PHOTOTHERAPY TREATMENT.

Phototherapy (baby is put under special lights to bring down the level of bilirubin) is a routine treatment given to a baby if/when the level of bilirubin in the blood reaches a certain level (determined by the physician). Every hospital uses these lights.

An infant's skin changes during and after going under the lights (redness and/or tanning can occur) and the Spectrx device is UNABLE to make an accurate reading.

Chromatics' device has been tested and does make accurate readings during the phototherapy treatment and after. Unlike the SpectRx device, it can be used the entire time monitoring for elevated bilirubin levels is needed.

Simply put: The physicians want the device that works.
