GENROCO Fibre Channel Powers Compaq Disk Arrays

SLINGER, Wis--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 4, 1998--GENROCO, Inc.
(GENROCO) (OTC BB: "GRCI") announced today that the European Custom
Systems Division 0f Compaq Computer Corporation Compaq) (NYSE: "CPQ")
will be providing the GENROCO TURBOfibre PCI Fibre Channel (FC) host
adapters with Compaq StorageWorks HSG-80 Fibre Channel disk arrays
used in Compaq AlphaServers running the 64 bit DIGITAL UNIX operating
system.

GENROCO's FCP-1032 is the first FC interface for Alpha computer
platforms capable of interfacing seamlessly with DIGITAL UNIX while
also providing the highest sustainable data rate by any controller
with the HSG-80. GENROCO has been a leading supplier of high
performance storage, digital video, and network interfaces to such
companies as Compaq, Sun, Silicon Graphics, Tektronix, and Fujitsu for
over 24 years. The Company recently demonstrated the world's first
open systems Gigabyte System Network (GSN) link, moving data between
Compaq and Sun computers at a burst rate of 800 megabytes per second.

GENROCO, the first company to supply Gigabit FC controllers, has
been providing FC products to Compaq since 1995 for use in clustered,
high availability environments. Compaq will now begin using GENROCO FC
host bus adapters in Oracle Video Server (OVS) and other demanding
applications UNIX run on AlphaServer systems.

The FCP-1032 is the newest member of GENROCO's TURBOfibre. family

PCI card utilizes a powerful 32 bit 100 MHz onboard Java engine which
enables it to move files at sustained rates of over 90 megabytes per
second. Fibre Channel has become the standard of choice for high
performance, network attachable storage systems. GENROCO's new
FCP-1032 controller is currently the only product capable of
sustaining such speed on Compaq storage systems.
