OT - CSCO Profit Margins

I mentioned a while back about an article in Network World that profiled CSCO's pricing structure and margins. I have increasingly seen more published accounts of long time CSCO shops balking at continued proprietary decisions by CSCO to lock in the current customer base to future CSCO business. I brought in the print version (because for some strange reason it didnt make it to the online version, hmmmm...) and if anybody wants me to post it in it's entirety I would be most happy to. Chamber's ego/philosophy is going to run this company right into the ground. Quality competition is increasing at break neck speed with some VERY impressive pricing and CSCO could care less. IT managers are growing VERY frustrated with how little their budgets can go with CSCO as to going with somebody else.

One real life experience is my fiance is the IT director at a prestigious prep school here and they are in the process of doubling their campus. They are now CSCO but after she took this article and a few posts by Mr. Fun to the board they have decided to switch to either Fore or Xyln, something MUCH more cost effective and most important of all is the open architecture. She is looking forward to the switch, her CSCO rep is an arrogant a**h*le.

Let me know if you want me to post it. GO ASND!!!!!!!!!!!
