OT-

Fred,

As I said I'm not his biggest fan BUT with regards to INTC:

1) INTC has been blown out of the water in the low end of the market by AMD.
2) They will have competition at the high end when the K7 chip appears.
3) Future demand in chips is uncertain but almost everyone agrees that growth in sales is slowing and margins are falling.
4) The software industry hasn't kept up with the hardware so there is little real need to purchase the highest end consumer processor (and this is evident in business purchases) unless your primary use is games.

With these trends is it so foolish to say your short? (We don't know Fleckenstein's position size, if any.)

INTC will continue to make its numbers because like Microsoft and GE they have billions put aside for rainy quarters. If they see trouble making their numbers they just cash in some of their investments that are on the books at 1991 prices.
