Ok, Mr. K. I think we're actually in agreement, then. It is interesting (and unfortunate, of course) that no action was taken against the Davidians for years. At the federal level, as I said, there wasn't much jurisdiction on the obvious issues of child welfare and what's still called statutory rape. At the local level, I don't know what the story was.

There's no question that both the original ATF raid and the ultimate FBI raid were botched, badly. I'd say the intervening FBI siege, with the bad music / screaming rabbit tapes blaring on loudspeakers, was badly botched too. First I heard of the loudspeaker siege tactic was Noriega in Panama, I thought it silly there also. There's plenty of blame to go around to all parties involved. Reno should have known better, and Clinton should have known more about the situation too. I never said otherwise. But rather extreme statements have been made by others here on the matter, as is usual among those who blame Clinton for all that's wrong in the world. I don't much notice you taking issue with them. To my knowledge, there's never been any evidence that the fire that sent the camp up in smoke was intentionally set during the FBI attack, but I'm sure that's still a popular theory among the "who killed Vince Foster" crowd.
