About the new OS.
As most of you may know the OS is the program that runs the computer. what you may not now is that it take a lot of work to program that software. just to code the ver. 7 OS to run on the powerMac it took apple 2 + years for that to happen... and much of the old code was still in the new OS, the kern. was all that was changed. Msft was 2 years late with win95 and trust me msft didn't wait just to call it win95, it takes a LONG time for the code to work with older lines of data. Now apple would like to run an emulater that again runs the older code + the new power codeing + wirte that into a program that should be NEXT OS native ( SLOW ) and have it all work in a powerPC box that has Mac roms runing a OS not made for that box... O yes the roms add about 2-4 MB of mem to the new OS if you have a powerpc mac. you see your powerpc mac needs some kind of or should have some hardware OS code in the machine if not add that code to the ram you need to just run the new OS
.
It can be done but it will not be in 1-2 years.
as for the new os it will be out in a year but it like the BEos has no software. Again we get back to the question why buy a mac if it has much less software and the titles you say are on the mac are first on the PC..
