Maybe everyone is looking too hard for why the stock is selling off. Maybe the answer is simply that there is a significant group of people that trade the stock. It rises into earnings and sells off afterward. I certainly respect each persons right to vent and I share in the frustration. But it seems like every quarter we're always wondering if the sell-off is because of a specific remark during the CC, something an analyst said, a "wrong" word used by management during an interview, ... . It appears the macro trading pattern results in a pullback after earnings and that might be the way it will always be until the nature of the stock changes. As long as the long-term trend is moving in the right direction, who cares, right? If management executes a good plan successfully, the stock will perform. If not, well, then there's reason to be concerned. Aside from the traders, the market's rightly saying "show me and show me good". True believers will have gotten in at a great price when the outstanding concerns, which are valid for the most part, have been shown to have been satisfactorily resolved.

I know this is an extremely simplistic view but it seems to carry through from quarter to quarter to quarter for all the years I've been following Qcom. FWIW (& long The Triumvirate).
