The price hikes experienced in 16 MEG DRAM have come as a result of a
marked increase in demand for 4MX4 FPM and EDO product. As this
configuration became very costly in relation to other 16 MEG devices, OEMs
looked to 1MX16 and 2MX8 configurations as an alternative for module
builds. Thus, price levels of these alternatives have been going higher
over the past couple of weeks. " according to AICE

Price increases on 16 MEG DRAM are spilling over to other select
configurations today. 2MX8 SYNCH and 4MX4 EDO are trading at higher levels
as demand is still strong and availabilities remain weak. Pentium II 350 is
in demand by OEMs and pricing has appreciated as a result. =

Pricing on select 16 MEG DRAM (1MX16 SYNCH, 4MX4FPM) continues to rise as
demand remains strong and availabilities are limited. Requirements on 64
MEG DRAM and high capacity Original Memory Modules have also increased in
the open market.
