Gerald, A Russian peasant working in his field was visited by an angel, who promised him anything he wished for. The only caveat being that his neighbor would receive double whatever he receives. The peasant pondered the offer for a few minutes but could not bring himself to the point of allowing his neighbor to become richer than himself. The angel became impatient and demanded an answer. Finally a stroke of genius came over the peasant. "Take out my left eye" the peasant gleefully blurted out. That is the sort of thinking which lead Russia to become the great power that it is today.
