Hi Mike, by the way, what is this about you being twins? (Did I get that right?)

A recent article in the Washington Post on the unexpected difficulties of some black students in a suburb, can't recall where - Indianapolis? - suggested that part of it had to do with peer pressure, the black students who did well were interviewed and said the ones who did badly called them "Oreos" and tried to pressure them not to succeed. Also, parental expectations played a big part, something as simple as which grades would cause your parents to scream at you, which ones were acceptable. Higher achieving students reported higher parental expectations. Guess I should have started screaming at "B"s instead of "C"s. Too late now?
