doug - interesting that the "mainstream press" didn't have the stomach for much negative about Bill Clinton until his first election was assured. And this time around, it wasn't until the tabloids were starting to get too close to be ignored that the sharks started getting pushed into the "presidential" water, where, once in, they fed as much as they thought the public ought to hear and see, then let the story go stale enough to deter anyone from bringing it up as an issue.

I've rarely seen so much emphasis on redundantly dunning Americans with supposed "news" stories about polling "data." Obviously, some people finally started believing the "leave him alone because everybody says leave him alone" mantra.

Like someone once said, never argue with a man who buys ink by the barrel.
