<<Not sure about today's action, but my guess would be that the shareholder's meeting is coming up>>

Just for the record, here's the press release that sparked the latest rise. It is interesting how the price started to go up late the day before.

Andrea Electronics to Enhance Its
Digital Super Directional Array (DSDA)
Microphone Technology for Intel's Future Processor
Technology

MELVILLE, N.Y. Nov. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Andrea Electronics Corporation (Amex: AND - news)
announced today that it has entered into an agreement with Intel Corporation [Nasdaq:INTC -
news] to optimize the performance of its patented Digital Super Directional Array (DSDA(TM))
far-field microphone technology for future generations of Intel processors. Andrea's
DSDA(TM) far-field microphone technology consists of advanced software algorithms that
have the unique ability to accomplish active noise cancellation, echo cancellation, adaptive
beamforming and directional voice finding and tracking. These combined properties achieve
new levels of microphone performance for hands-free, untethered, superior quality voice
input for all speech applications, allowing the speaker to be at a distance from the
microphone.

The working relationship between Andrea Electronics and Intel Corporation will drive efforts
in advanced processor technology and microphone technology to support the development of
new uses for speech recognition. By taking advantage of a chip instruction set that will be
introduced in a family of Intel processors in 1999, the optimization of the DSDA microphone
technology is anticipated to significantly reduce cost by minimizing certain component
requirements and improve overall performance of the microphone. This reduced cost and
improved performance is expected to bring the benefits of speech recognition to a broader
base of end users.

Applications for the DSDA microphone technology include desktop continuous speech
recognition, automobile PCs, audio/videoconferencing, command/control and dictation
programs, hands-free cellular car phone kits, voice-enabled mobile and embedded devices
and office and home automation systems.

''Intel is dedicated to advancing developments in the speech technology market,'' said Rob
Sullivan, Director of Content Technologies at Intel Corporation. ''The combination of Andrea
Electronics' expertise in microphone technology and Intel's technological breakthroughs in
processor technology will enhance the capability of continuous speech recognition.''

''We are exited to work with Intel to create a more efficient and effective microphone solution,
allowing our DSDA technology to run on the host processor, rather than on a separate DSP
chip,'' said Douglas J. Andrea, Co-president at Andrea Electronics Corporation. ''We believe
that this solution will bring the benefits of a natural human/machine interface to a broader
base of end users, enhancing the accuracy, speed and ease of use of advanced speech
recognition systems.''
