I felt I had to respond to this non-leading edge stuff. The IPS system at it's core has state of the art image recognition software. This software can do things ( scanning 3D shapes no one else can do, textures, etc, etc.) And , oh yeah, even though the IPS system is not 'hi-tech' looking, you should never judge a book by its cover. The software and the hardware engine IP is the key to the system, NOT its looks. The IP is highly portable to a myriad of applications. I could comment on Dalsa as well, but its an entirely different application, and the guy who helped start it was NOT one of my favorite profs at UW. Could not tolerate any thinking patterns other than his own, even though I proved him incorrect on a number of occasions. So, I MIGHT be a little biased. The lesson to learn here is to understand the IP value of a company, and how this IP positions it for applicability to a changing market. It seems unfortunate that in any company, like a sports team, chemistry is important. Right now the GM is making bad deals. IMHO |
