Ah yes, the character map. I forgot about that, though I played with it a bit when I first got Win95.

Have you tried Win98, or ever converted to it? Now that it's been out for a few months, and apparently works with my existing device drivers, I'm thinking of converting. It's not after all very big bucks. And I recently learned how to do a mirror image of my hard disk to another hard disk, for a painless complete reinstall at one pass if things go badly. (Xcopy32 c:*.* d: /E/C/H/R/K) Where c: is your old logical drive and d: is the one you want to mirror to. Repeat for additional logical drives as necessary.)

(Use tested. It really works like a flawless charm. Amazing. More sophisticated backup programs will often require windows, drivers, and programs to be individually reinstalled, which is an enormous pain.)

Only works as a one pass painless reinstall if the computer is not changed other than for disk drives. I.e. the hardware and drivers can't be different as on a computer upgrade.
