Qwest recently hooked me up at 9 cents anytime. But, one of those dial prefix services (10 10 502) is 7 cents, so I'm using them. MCI- Worldcom offered me 10 cents on a *calling card* (and a 10,000 frequent flyer mile bonus)

Whether or not they can make as much money - If you talk more, and end up with the same monthly total, I guess it won't hurt them too much - but it sure can't be helping them. L.D. is a loss-leader going forward.
There's talk that L.D. voice will soon be flat rate; like local service.

CWP is primarily attractive here as a takeover play. See #70 above.
I think CWP is clearly in play; now that the stock is not so depressed, things could heat up again anytime.
