George - I'm asking myself what can keep on driving this market up - i'd have thought that it needs continuing positive news on the earnings front, and I don't think that Q4 is going to provide that.

The threat of impeachment has been diluted,as has the influence of the zealots in the GOP - moderation seems to be the order of the day. If you read Crudelle in the NY Post there are still some startling charges to come against Clinton from Starr - but Crudelle has been seriously wrong so far (you'd think he would have better sources). I would guess that further allegations will be a big yawn for the public.

So the impeachment factor has receded, and we saw the relief early today. But now we are forced back to the economy, the credit situation, Y2K., etc., and I can't help wondering how much steam is left here?

Interesting action today in XAU - look at ABX's rise. Another interesting factor is the huge volume in ARP - very encouraging for juniors generally. There's a lot of money around for taking a flyer. E
