richard, i repeat. if it is cheaper everyone will go to private school except whatever poor souls can't figure out that this the best deal. demand for private schools would go up, what, 10,000%? and prices would stay the same? ;-)

the schools already have some competition. rich kids can go to private schools as well as middle class kids.

this is a financial issue not an education issue for these people.

is it right for the public school to get paid for doing a crappy job? nope. i just don't think taking their resources en masse is the solution. the cost will be paid by whatever kids are left behind. just b/c they won't be your kids or my kids doesn't mean we shouldn't be concerned about them.
