Emile, The terror we feel for death is nothing metaphysical. We're just afraid it's going to hurt. The fear of waiting for a biopsy result is not fear of being dead, it's fear of having to live with cancer. The prospect of being dead worries me not nearly as much as the prospect of dealing with an extended and debilitating illness. I'd like to stay healthy until the kids get through college, and when I go I'd like to do it as comfortably as possible. That's about it. I don't know if I'll be meeting the creator or just fading away, but I'm quite prepared for either. No "innate need for eternal life" around here. Steve
