But if new shorts came in today, it would signal to me that Asensio is not finished manipulating this stock.

The way I look at it now is pretty basic. Asensio may be a dishonest scam artist but he is not stupid. His 'research' reports are designed to do one thing and one thing only - make money for him and his firm. His 'research' reports are not the product of benevolence extended to an unwary and uninformed investment community. They are designed to a.) create a serious downdraft in a stock after he has established his position and then b.) attack the stock after a decent rally has set in to entice more selling (and short selling) while he covers his position.

Consider that BTIM closed at 11 3/4 just 8 days after he drove it down from near 11 to near 8. BTIM has shown more technical strength than he can break and any additional 'research' reports will bring diminishing returns for him and his ilk.

I think the game is up for him. His motives are clearly revealed and his deliberate inaccuracies are obvious to any investor who has bothered to research the facts for themselves.

I hope more shorts get in at this level. Shoot, I hope 300k went short today. These guys have got to be crazy to be shorting a stock with 20-25% already short and a certain FDA approval pending. BTW, what ever became of the Nihon deal?
