Digital Jam on CNNfn has a guess (name unknown)
that said cable would be more wide spread then G.line
and cost less. He said cable would grab 80% of the market.

My case
(1) Pacbell has DSL , but you have to live within
3 miles of pacbell station.
I live 12 miles away. They said sorry.
(2) Cable, has cable in the street and main lines
are fiber. They said easy. Took him 1/2 hour
and they supply cable modem.
...he also said new fiber is at 90 volts, not 60 volts,
so in the future cable could be used for phone lines.
