Hi Tara and all, I've had shares of GENE since it was CRIC (about 1986) and have enjoyed it the last few years! I use a risk management model that allows for taking partial profits in rises and then using the proceeds to repurchase shares if the price faulters. It's just right for rollercoasters like GENE. That said, I was parting company with shares at about $14 last year and my most recent purchase was to accumulate 20% more shares at $8 1/2. My original base is so low that $8 1/2 looks like a silly price to buy, but looking at it as a discount from the previous sell point, it was just about right.
I'll part company with about 4% of my position if we see $12 5/8 and will add 4% to my holdings if we get a drop to $8. I'm new to SI and am delighted to find some folks that share my long term enthusiasm on this stock. My present portfolio position on GENE is 68% invested/32% cash reserve. It was about 50/50 last year when I last sold.
Thanks to all of you for the good info here on GENE.
Best regards, Tom Veale
