If you believe I am incorrect, give me your authority as to why you think so. I gave you the basis for my opinion. BTW, " … your submission has been proven to be false" is written in the passive voice… the structure purposely avoids the question of "WHO proved it false?"

There is nothing that makes a short sale inherently short term. You could stay with a profitable short sale as long as you wanted. Tax treatment is another matter. However, as long it is short-term tax treatment, why not let it run as long as it is profitable? The typical staying period for shorts, in my opinion based on personal experience, is more in the inherent risk and basic nature of most short sellers. They typically pull the trigger a lot sooner.

I am ready to re-consider what I saw first hand over an extended period if you are able to produce an authoritative study that concludes that short sales have the same average holding period as the average long holding period. You should be ready to re-consider as well, if you can't produce the documentation.

Consider yourself lucky that you weren't able to borrow HEB shares to short. Dr. Carter of HEB cut off sources of illegal short sales as just one counter tactic in his defense of the stock price. He has also effectively responded to the misstatements in the Asensio "analysis" as well as suing him for them. Besides that HEB has an effective drug and lots of potential in other areas. You should read the Security Capital report on it.
