Nope Im against most social programs. But you have to have common sense in these matters which the republicans dont seem to have. For example if you read about the turn of the century that was a time in this country where most services were privitized and it was a disaster.... the fire dept was privitized for example and if there was a fire and you werent covered, your house burnt down. A few inherent problems with that, Id say. Same things with schools. Privitization sounds good I suppose but are we really ready for vouchers for everybody? Come on. My endorsement of the NEA is more on philosophical grounds, I think the arts can successfully fund themselves in this country at this point with donations. I dont know about libraries.

I am terribly opposed to the redistribution of wealth from one group to another which is currently the case with Social Security and Medicare.
