Still trying to evaluate whether to switch to you. I called customer service to ask about the number of stocks that can be shorted. I was told that the list is about 1500, available from the Ultimate Trader Software. However, I was told that I couldn't see the list until I subscribed. I trade heavily in mainly one industry, retail stocks. With about half of my trades long and half short. If the universe of shortable stocks is about 1500, then the number in retail must be considerably less. Is there any way to know what they are. I guess I've been spoiled at Datek where I could short whatever I want, never with pre-arrangement.
