LOS ANGELES (CBS.MW) -- Recently, we alerted you to a number of SuperStar mutual funds on the comeback trail after being hit hard in the summer correction (some of these were blue-chip-focused funds, while others were more aggressive). Real bargains. Buys at discount prices as we look ahead to the Dow's reaching 10,000 by 2000. So I asked myself the obvious question: What stocks do these pros see as bargains? Better yet: What are these managers actually buying during this recovery?
Then the latest InvestmentNews, a new weekly print publication for financial advisers, appeared serendipitously on my desk with a story titled "Bargains! Bargains! Bargains!" I couldn't resist. The article listed 40 stocks that "the pros say have been unfairly spooked by the summer selloff." As a result, "many are trading at bargain prices not seen in years."
The fact that these 40 stocks are being actively purchased by these managers is an important reason investors should take a close look at them now. Moreover, InvestmentNews has some of the best research we've seen in a while and, therefore, deserves broader exposure, so we're passing these recommendations along to you. Check them out:
