Glenayre Receives $1.5 Million Order For Enhanced Services Platform From Poland's Netia Telekom

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Nov. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Glenayre Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:GEMS) today announced it has received a contract to provide its enhanced services solution to support voice and fax mail boxes for the wireline telecommunications network of Netia Telekom S.A. of Poland. The initial order is valued over $1.5 million and will be shipped during the fourth quarter of 1998. Netia Telekom is the leading private provider of fixed line telephone services in Poland. In addition to basic telephone services, Netia offers a wide range of value-added services. Over the period of the contract, Glenayre's MVP(R) modular voice processing system and applications will be deployed by Netia Telekom in major cities throughout Poland. Advanced personal communications services the Glenayre platform provides that will enhance the services of Netia Telekom include voice and fax messaging, message waiting notification, the ability to make outbound calls directly from the voice mailbox, bulletin boards, virtual telephony, and the single number service, Constant Touch(R). Netia's mission is to become the preferred supplier of services to Poland's business and residential customers by guaranteeing quality and customer satisfaction. The Glenayre enhanced services platform was selected because it offers a flexible and sophisticated solution. Glenayre's voice processing system and applications will be deployed by Netia throughout its five regions in Poland through 1998 and 1999. The MVP systems' modular architecture enables it to expand to keep pace with customer usage.
