Ms. Cleaver, if I may have permission to speak, please:

I have a little history of trading GERN, although it's been most successful on the short side.
On 8-15-97 they announced they'd discovered the gene that controls aging - telomerase. The stock had opened at 6 1/2, had a high of 17 1/8 and closed at 14. The following day it opened at 15 3/4, high was 17 5/8, and it closed at 16 1/8. About a week later, on 9-2 it reached a temporary bottom of 8 5/8.
A similar pattern emerged again on 1-13-98 when they said a study showed telomerase extended the human cell lifespan.
The point of this being that if you're in the stock early, you can make a lot of money...if you're nimble. But if you miss the run-up, you can still make a lot of money by shorting it.
All their projects have a long-term horizon and it will take years to find out if they even have a probable commercial product.

Good luck, Merritt
