Thanks for the short course on Koch's postulates. Actually, I heard of them before; there is a scientist(from UC Berkeley I think) who disputes that the HIV virus is the cause of AIDS because it fails Koch's postulates. He hasn't got very many scientists who agree with him, but I believe that he has written a book explaining his views which goes to show that it is indeed heady stuff.
