Daniel, consumer products require ease of setup. That is one of the reasons the telcos are trying for splitterless ADSL modems so that the telcos don't need to send an installer. The way most households operate, if your wife or co-habitant want to be on the internet at the same time as you want to be on the internet, and your household has two computers, you have to have two separate telephone lines. Not so with the Westell ADSL modem. Both computers, or more, can simultaneously access different websites using one telephone line by sharing bandwidth on the one telephone line.
