LAS VEGAS, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- Traffic near the Las Vegas Strip is backing up. That
must mean
Comdex is back in town. Even though the world's largest computer convention is
still nine days
away, hotel rooms are filling up fast as 220,000 delegates and vendors begin to
descend on the city.
But there will be a few notable no-shows. IBM and Intel have scaled back their
presences. And Dell
Computer chief Michael Dell pulled out altogether. He supposedly was miffed that
Compaq's
president had been given a better speaking time.
