The concept is already proven: Friday November 6, 6:53 am Eastern Time Canadians warned of cash-cleaning scam VANCOUVER, Nov 5 (Reuters) - You might call it the ultimate money laundering scheme. Police warned residents on Thursday to be wary of two men offering investments in a scheme to clean up a suitcase alleged to contain C$40 million in filthy cash. Investors are asked to pay between C$50,000 and C$200,000 for a bottle of cleaning fluid that will clean a black wax substance from the money, Vancouver police said. In return for buying the fluid, the investor is promised 40 percent of the laundered cash. The men reportedly demonstrate the fluid's effectiveness with a trick. ''I can't believe somebody would (believe) something like this. Some of the scams I can see myself getting into, but this one?'' asked police spokeswoman Janice Williams. At least one wealthy Vancouver resident has admitted to being duped by the men, and police suspect there are others who are too embarrassed by what has happened to come forward.
