I repeated the screen I did about 1 mo. ago for tax loss selling candidates. There are fewer losers now, obviously. I did the screen today, because the historical data for low-priced stocks looks like now is about the optimal time for shorting tax-loss selling stocks.

The one stock produced by the screen that interested me was MVIS

The institutional ownership is almost nil, and insider ownership isn't very high either. Plus the RS is really low.

The fundamentals aren't real good:

This is a development stage co. that burns cash and doesn't have a tremendous amount. The only revenues are small govt. R&D grants.

The market cap is tiny, at $36 M, but almost all of that is in individual hands, so the float at 4.7 M isn't that bad. I was able to borrow a little today.

Business Summary
Microvision, Inc. is engaged in the development of information display technologies that will allow for electronically generated images and information to be projected directly onto the retina of the viewers eye. For the six months ended 6/30/98, revenues totalled $3.8 million, up from $102 thousand. Net loss increased 44% to $3.4 million. Revenues reflect various contracts entered into during 1997 and current period. Higher loss reflects increased employee expenses.
