>Given no other means to finance a medically necessary operation to save the life of one's mother, would not armed robbery be morally acceptable?<
I see. Then should you decide not to fulfill my demands, I also then have moral ability to shoot you to finance my mother's operation. Your morality is untenable sir, because it is simple barbarism. The moral rule of this universe is Might Makes Right, and when men claim power to implement this rule themselves, it amounts to mere barbarism. This is why abortion is sheer barbarism. Those who make claims against the lives of these humans do so without any logical basis whatever. They do it merely because they can. If this is how you want to play the thing, then fine. Each day that passes, you are getting your wish. We are now days from a convergence of events that could cause panic and disaster the likes of which this world has never seen. I was prepared for it years ago, I hope you are.
>In disregarding relativism as a law of our physical universe, you would have people believe that a physical manifestation of the human form can travel at the speed of light. The Theory of Relativity has proven this impossible. This theory is the basis for modern day science. Thus, you argue that science itself is a joke. You argue that the science behind nuclear weaponry is impossible.<
Dear me. This is stupid. I contend no such thing. You foolishly apply relativity to morality without empirical evidence. This is not science. This is stupidity.
>I am VERY GLAD that right wingers are not in general very good mathemeticians…<
Well. I am not glad that certain liberals are not very good spellers, and my right wing children are better at mathematics, spelling, grammar, science, music, history, etc. than most wrong winged children and adults.
>for the power in their hands to DO GREAT WRONGS with their ideas of moral absolutes HORRIFIES ME TO NO END.<
Well of course it horrifies you, because it claims there is an Authority to which you must give an account.
>I believe strongly in God. I believe God is that which we all are together... man, animal, earth, universe, subatomic particle.<
Some god.
>We live in a spiritual world.<
...in which all things are possible.
>Life is a series of compromises and choices, meant to help bring about the greatest good for all in an imperfect world.<
Life is a series of choices, each of which are measured against an Ultimate Good. It was, is and always will be wrong for Hitler to murder over six million Jews, this, whether or not consensus claims otherwise.
>Perfection is a goal for which we all must constantly strive, but none of us shall ever attain in this life.<
Agreed. But your world view presents me no compelling reason why anyone must strive for perfection. Indeed it claims perfection does not even exist.
>It is like trying to divide One by an exceedingly small number. You can approach infinity the smaller you make that number, but you WILL NEVER GET THERE.<
This is not your world view, it is mine. Dividing one perfectly for me exists, and it accomplishment is perfection. Such accomplishment is rendered impossible due to the limits of logic and human reality. So I await a time when I will transcend these limitations and finally achieve my goal.
You, on the other hand, claim the division of one is not only impossible, but that its being perfection is relative. You must now prove the claims with reason.
>And may God have mercy on both of our souls, friend.<
He has already had more mercy upon me than I deserve, and each day I rise, I see He has had ever more mercy upon me. When I die and enter the Unknown, I will do so with complete confidence and reliance upon His mercy, since He has already proven to me time and time again, He can be Trusted. Can you say the same? |
