Gottfried, I have no margin and about 25% cash. I did not sell any stock and just held, even though warnings of DOW 6400 abounded. This
time it worked.

Is anyone else willing to confess?
I would request we not criticize others' strategies.

As you know I road AMAT up from my original prespit purchase of $26.625 ($13.3125 split) and held my shares through the downcycle because I wanted to be in the 20% capital gains tax bracket rather than the 40% bracket. I sold my CA margin shares at $35 taking me off margin but then remargined again approximately a month ago in buying AMAT at $26.50 average price.

This time I will not ride throught the up and down cyle.

It feels good to be making money off the brokerage firm since I am up $10 per share from my margin share purchase.

Margin buying is not for everone. It is imperative that you buy low, low, low and have additional cash backup. Right, Brian?

Just my opinions.

Paul V.
