San Diego Union reports that this suit was originally filed when qcom was denied a reduced price license for the Miami area. Instead PCS PrimeCo and Sprint PCS got the license thru auction. Qcom spokesperson suggested that they may use the decision as a bargaining chip rather than to seek the licenses revoked.

The Union also says - at the time, Qcom requested the Miami license in an attempt to avoid competing against its own equipment customers. As it turns out both large license winners for the area are using Qcom technology and Qcom equipment.
